Completed over twenty years regular service, including ten years as a paratrooper and a further ten in special forces.

Active duty includes tours in Cyprus, Southern Arabia, Zambia, Northern Ireland, Malaya and Dhofar. Member of a team tasked with the close protection of a royal family. Involved with the training of the New Zealand Police in aspects of close protection. Military unarmed combat instructor.
